The 1 Second Film is a groundbreaking non-profit collaborative movie project that anyone in the world can be part of. As a global community, we're creating the World's Biggest Shortest Film.
The film is one-second of animation (made of 12 giant paintings), followed by over one-hour of epic credits listing everyone that participates, from celebrities to great-grandmothers. A feature-length making of documentary will play during the credits, detailing the collaborative process. All profits raised by the finished film will be donated to the Global Fund for Women.
Anyone can help produce the film by donating as little as $1. Producers get listed in our credits and receive profiles on our site, forming a collaborative community that will continue to grow.
The 1 Second Film is the flagship production of The Collaboration Foundation, a non-profit art organization with a 5 Phase Plan to bring people around the world together, using collaborative art to create social change.
The project is the brainchild of Nirvan Mullick, an award winning filmmaker who began the project while a student at CalArts. After graduating, Nirvan began fundraising on the streets with a xerox flier and eventually raised enough to start building this website. Person by person, the project has continued to grow.
